Sandgrounder Radio has officially unveiled its brand new ‘Sandgrounder Shuttle’ which has been very kindly provided by locally based Peoples Bus.

The double decker bus was officially launched at Ocean Plaza in Southport on Easter Saturday with its first task to assist with the delivery of hundreds of Easter Eggs to Alder Hey Children’s Charity and Southport Baby Bank as part of the radio station’s 2021 Easter Egg Appeal.

Sandgrounder Radio Content Director, Andy Hilbert said: “This is a unique and amazing opportunity for us, as a local business and radio station, working in partnership with the fabulous team at Peoples Bus.

“The Sandgrounder Shuttle will be used during the week on Southport and Formby school services and at other times it then transforms into an amazing mobile broadcasting hub for the radio station.

“Back in the day, it was a relatively normal sight to see your local, commercial radio station with a fully branded bus.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have been given the chance to work in partnership with Andrew and the amazing team at Peoples Bus to launch the ‘Sandgrounder Shuttle’.

“Over the coming weeks and months, as restrictions are eased, the ‘Sandgrounder Shuttle’ will be out and about, appearing in some great places and at some amazing events within the local area. We really can’t wait.”

On Saturday 17th April the official launch of the ‘Sandgrounder Shuttle’ will take place at Southport Pleasureland to coincide with the park’s first weekend of operation for the season.

There will be giveaways and chances to win. You never know, you might even end up on the radio too.
