Greggs has opened its new shop today (Friday 19th June 2026) in Southport town centre, creating 12 new jobs for the area.

The shop, at 41-49 Chapel Street, Southport, PR8 1AL, stocks freshly prepared Greggs favourites, including the on-the-go-retailer’s iconic Sausage Roll, the ever-popular Steak Bake, delicious vegan alternatives such as the Vegan Roll (Pork Free), and the all-new Chicken Roll, now available for customers to enjoy nationwide.

The new Greggs has opened in the site of the former H&M fashion store, which closed in 2016.

A delicious new line up of pastas and salads has joined the menu just in time for summer, including a Prawn Layered Pasta Salad, and Chicken Caesar Salad with Egg. Customers can also take advantage of Greggs’ deals throughout the day, including its 3-part Big Deal – a drink, a side and a main – from £5.25.

Those looking for a bite to eat in the evening can enjoy a range of hot food from crispy Southern Fried Chicken Goujons to the all-new Hot Cinnamon Yum Yums, and even a host of tasty pizza slices including the Chicken Tandoori, BBQ Chicken & Bacon and Veggie Feast.

Customers looking to skip the queues can get their goodies delivered straight to their door with Just Eat and UberEATS, or alternatively grab a bite on the go through Click + Collect via the Greggs App. The Greggs App gives customers access to a variety of perks and tasty rewards. For every 9 purchases in different categories – from hot drinks, to sandwiches, app users can get one completely free. New users of the Greggs App also receive a free hot drink or iced drink of their choice upon registration, as well as a free sweet treat to celebrate their birthday each year.

Shop Manager Gemma Graley said:

Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, said:

“Our new shop in Southport has brought 12 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”

It’s more positive news for Chapel Street, which saw the new Coffee House cafe open on Saturday, and is also seeing the ongoing conversion of the former BHS department store into new commercial units and apartments along with the transformation of the Southport Railway Stations Approach.

Greggs was founded by John Gregg in Newcastle over 80 years ago, and now has over 2,000 Greggs stores across the UK, although none in Southport – until now.

Any further jobs created at the Southport shop will be posted on https://careers.greggs.co.uk/
