A new Celebration Wall has been unveiled at Southport Football Club.
The initiative sees fans able to buy plaques to remember their loved ones and to celebrate their life at the ground on Haig Avenue.
The first 12 plaques are now in place and the club has already received orders for 28 plaques.
Supporters can even enjoy a specially discounted price of £35 per plaque up until the end of this month, with orders being placed here: HERE.
A Southport FC spokesperson said: “We have now received 28 orders for plaques on the wall.
“The first 12 have been put up and the orders are in for the rest which we hope to have up before our next home match.
“We have extended the special offer price of £35 until July 31st after which time the full price of £45 will be in place.
“Thank you to everyone for the positive comments.
“We were asked if it is possible to order a plaque for a person’s Christmas or Birthday present in advance and have it put up at the appropriate time and this is a great idea which we will happily accommodate.
“Please state the date when advising rob@southportfc.net of the wording on the plaque if it isn’t for immediate placement.”
The new Southport FC Celebration Wall is on the Club Shop alongside the Fan Zone.
Supporters can now purchase a plaque that will be placed on the wall.
A Southport FC spokesperson said: “As we are notified of people who have passed away we are often asked about putting some form of remembrance up at the club and this wall will be available for people to do just that but it is not just about remembering our loved ones.
“The wall can be used for anything at all whether it is In Memory of a loved one, a special birthday, wedding anniversary, any message, new born child etc etc etc.
“You may just want to put something like ‘Fred Bloggs 50 years supporting Southport, a lifetime sentence!’
”We do however reserve the right to refuse any unsuitable messages!!!
“The plaques will cost £45 and will include your message in yellow printed on a black plaque that will be affixed to a brick on the wall.
“Retrospective messages, maybe for a loved one who was a Southport fan who passed away some time ago are a lovely way of remembering your friends or family.
“The characters are limited to the size of the plaque and we can advise accordingly. The Club Crest can be included at no extra charge.”
