David Massam and his team from Massam and Marshall Independent Funeral Directors in Southport are hosting an evening of music, reflection and prayer to offer those who have suffered loss the chance to come together and remember this festive season.

David, Funeral Director at the branch on Manchester Road in Southport, said: “We are proud to be able to put on an event which will allow members of all communities within Southport to come together in this multi-faith service to remember loved ones whom we have lost.

“All proceeds will be split evenly between Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley and Leyland Road Methodist Church in Southport, who have very kindly offered us their church to lead this service.”

Rev Sonya Marshall from Leyland Road Methodist Church will assist in leading the service and will be joined by Rev Martin Abrams from Southport Hospital along with local celebrants. David Massam and members of his staff team will also be providing reflective music.

There will be an opportunity to place a named card with your loved one’s name on the Remembrance Tree as part of the service.

Hot drinks and mince pies will be served following the service, which starts at 7pm on Sunday. 5th December, 2021.

David Massam said: “There is no need for you to have used our services before. This is a community initiative aimed at uniting people in an act of remembrance for their loved ones and allowing us to reflect for the Christmas period, whilst raising some money for two very worthwhile charities.

“There is no need to book a place for the event, all are welcome and we look forward to seeing you. If you cannot make the event, it will be live streamed on Leyland Road Methodist Church’s Youtube Channel.”
