Southport BID feature by Andrew Brown Stand Up For Southport
Lakeland Leather in Southport has thanked shoppers who supported their recent in-store fundraising event for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The shop, on Lord Street in Southport town centre, saw Store Manager Emma Woodall and her team invite people in to join them for a raffle with some superb prizes as they enjoyed glasses of Prosecco and chocolates. Raffle tickets remain on sale until next Sunday (13th October 2024) when Emma is leaping from an aircraft to do a charity skydive.
For every purchase made at the Lakeland Leather fundraiser in Southport, 10% of the profits are going towards supporting Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
It follows the tragedy at the Hart Space in Southport this summer in which three young girls were tragically killed while several children and adults were severely injured.
Emma Woodall said: “We ran the event over two days. Both days went well with lots of lovely customers supporting such a worthy cause.
“We had Prosecco, chocolates and raffle tickets plus we gave our customers 10% off in store.
“I would just like to say thank you to Lakeland Leather, which is going to donate 10% of our two-day sales to Alder Hey.

“I would like to thank Southport BID for helping to promote my skydive and fundraising day.
“We have sold a considerable amount of raffle tickets and are still continuing to sell as we are going to draw the raffle the day after my skydive, on Monday, 14th October.
“I am super excited to do the skydive especially as so many people have supported me.
“I want to Thank Alder Hey for what they did to help the injured children in their continued recovery. They have been amazing. I hope we still continue to raise more money for them.”
On Sunday, 13th October 2024, Emma Woodall is looking forward to skydiving 10,000 feet to support Alder Hey.
