Joseph Holt Brewery has unveiled plans to create a brand new hotel in Southport.
Hotels by Holts is a growing initiative by the Manchester-based brewery, which already runs hotels in Warrington, Knutsford, Chorlton, the Northern Quarter in Manchester, Prestwich, Belmont, Glossop and Moston.
Joseph Holt Brewery has now submitted a planning application to Sefton Council to change the use of part of the first floor and second floor of The Imperial pub at 38 Albert Road, close to Hesketh Park and to Southport town centre, from residential to hotel use.
The facility would provide 17 hotel rooms, including the installation of six dormers, two each to the side and front elevations.
The design of the new hotel is being led by Design306.
Brewery JD Wetherspoon has recently been granted planning permission to create 30 new hotel rooms above its Sir Henry Segrave pub at 93-97 Lord Street in Southport.
On their website, Joseph Holt Brewery says: “Welcome to Hotels by Holts. Discover a variety of hotels tailored to meet your travelling needs, if you are seeking city centre stays or rural escapes, Joseph Holt has the perfect accommodation for you.

“Whether you’re a solo traveler away on business or a family on a weekend break, we pride ourselves on delivering comfortable rooms at an affordable rate. Each of our hotels has its own unique features, steeped in rich history, offering tales of the past and countless memories to be made in the future.
“We offer accommodation in the lively heart of Manchester city centre, the charming town of Knutsford, as well as our countryside locations on the edge of the peak district and nestled in the hills of Belmont, there really is something for everyone.
“When you are unwinding and relaxing in the hotel pub, you’ll have the convenience of Joseph Holt’s award-winning beers and delicious food menu at your convenience. Choose a stay at Hotels by Holts for an unforgettable escape.”
The Imperial is described by Holt’s as “a warm and welcoming dining pub. With a fantastic beer garden to the front and modern, classy décor inside, the Imperial is a great destination to enjoy a meal after a day at the beach, a beer after a round of golf or stop off to watch the football.”
