The new ice skating rink in Southport has now opened!

People can enjoy a German themed Christmas experience at the specially-built ice rink – with real ice – at Victoria Park in Southport, home of Southport Flower Show.

The Ice Skating Southport rink has been built inside a huge heated marquee, adjacent to another marquee which acts as a Bavarian hall.

Entry is free with charges for ice skating if anyone aged four and over wants to give it a try.

During the day it’s a great place for families with lots of places to sit and eat food and have a drink from the bar inside.

The Ice Skating Southport rink opens today (Saturday 3rd December 2022) between 10am and 11pm.

It runs until 23rd December 2022, open weekdays 10am-5pm and weekends 11am-11pm.

During the evenings there are plenty of themed party nights being planned, with German oompah bands, DJs and more live entertainment.

The attraction has been brought to Southport by North West Marquee Hire and Southport TV, which organised the successful recent Oktoberfest at Victoria Park in October.

Expect German food and beer, themed party nights at the weekend, DJs, singers, loads of seating and tables and much much more, so even if you don’t want to ice skate, come dine and drink and watch the ice skating or one of the many entertainers on stage.

Ice Skating at Ice Skating Southport starts at just £9 for under 12s, £12.50 for everyone over 12 and a family of 4 tickets is £38 (plus Skiddle booking fee).

An Ice Skating Southport spokesperson said: “We have some amazing German food available from one of Southport’s best chefs!

“Expect Bratwursts and large pretzels as well as some traditional food as well. We are serving a selection of German beers in 2 pint steins as well as all your usual favourites plus seasonal beverages like Mulled Wine, gingerbread hot chocolate as well as Tea & Coffee and much much more.

“Every Friday and Saturday evening (6pm-11pm) the marquee comes alive and turns into a full-on party vibe – and the best bit is its completely free entry!

“Entertainment wise we have (on rotation) ‘Disco On Ice’, ‘The Bavarian Stompers Duo’, ‘Lionel The Vinyl’ playing all your fave 80s hits and there will also be a Kingsway & Manhattans 90s dance night with Mark Pickup.

“All are free entry and if there’s a few of you coming down, don’t worry we have seating for several hundred.

  4. First off I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself
and clear your mind before writing. I have had trouble
clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15
minutes are lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or
    hints? Thanks!
