Details have been revealed for an entertaining Closing Party at Ice Skating Southport!

The event will take place at the ice rink at Victoria Park in Southport, on Friday, 23rd December 2022.

The ice rink is open this Saturday and Sunday and every day and evening next week in the run-up to Christmas, ahead of the grand finale next week.

People can book advance tickets through the Ice Skating Southport website. Walk-ins are also welcome as long as spaces remain available, although people are encouraged to book ahead online to avoid any disappointment.

A spokesperson said: “Our closing party at Ice Skating Southport is on Friday 23rd December, its free entry and entertainment in our bar starts at 6pm – the ice rink is open from 10am.

“We have The Bavarian Stompers oompah band on, who performed for us at Oktoberfest a few months back and boy did they entertain!

“The Hofmeister steins will be flowing as well as the foot long bratwursts. We have seating for 200 in our heated marquee, if you want us to reserve you a table let us know at the earliest to avoid disappointment.”

Ice Skating Southport has entertained hundreds of families since it opened on 3rd December.

It has been created by North West Marquee Hire and Southport TV, the team which organised the successful recent Oktoberfest at Victoria Park in October.

The venue is situated next to the Southport Eco Centre entrance to Victoria Park.

Ice skating at Ice Skating Southport starts at £9 for under 12s, £12.50 for everyone over 12 and a family of 4 tickets is £38 (plus booking fee).

Sessions are for 45 minutes on the ice and 15 minutes to lace up, every hour on the hour.

Kids helmets are offered at no charge and there are polar bear skating aids available should you wish to hire one at £4. So if you just stand and watch your braver friends or families take to the ice, you’re not charged for going in.

Next to the ice skating rink is another large marquee, with loads of seating available on tables and benches.

There is German food available and a large well stocked bar, with a variety of drinks including mulled wine, gingerbread hot chocolate as well as tea and coffee and German beers in either pints or steins.

There is a real family vibe during the day and at night there are several themed party nights available, with entertainment on rotation including ‘Disco On Ice’, ‘The Bavarian Stompers Duo’, ‘Lionel The Vinyl’ playing all your fave 80s hits and there will also be a Kingsway & Manhattans 90s dance night with Mark Pickup.

The Ice Skating Southport rink is open 10am-11pm this Saturday and Sunday (17th and 18th December) and then 10am-10pm between Monday 19th December and Thursday 22nd December, with 10am-11pm on Friday 23rd December.
