Up to 700 walkers will gather at Southport Pleasureland this Friday evening (September 17) to take part in the annual Queenscourt Hospice 10k Star Trekk fundraiser.
Walkers, many of them in fancy dress, will muster at the park, a regular supporter of the event, to enjoy some pre-Trekk entertainment before putting their best feet forward and setting off on the route at 7pm.
Even the weather looks set to smile on the event; dry with walker-friendly temperatures.
The fun event is open to everyone, and walks don’t have to be undertaken as part of the event – they can be undertaken solo or with fundraisers’ own groups of family and friends or colleagues.
The evening will once again conclude at Pleasureland with participants awarded their Star Trekk medals.
Queenscourt’s Star Trekk – the hospice’s flagship annual event – began 15 years ago and has raised more than £830,000.00.
Online entries have now closed, but walkers can still enter on the night at a cost of £25 each. Entry on the night participants need to be at Pleasureland for 5.30pm.
Queenscourt is encouraging walkers to pick up their t-shirts from the hospice in advance – or do so at registration – so that all participants are wearing them for the walk.
