Two friends who completed a coast to coast walk have raised an impressive £3,564.98 for Elsie’s Story, Alice’s WonderDance and Bebe’s Hive.
Alan Goadsby and his friend John Duckworth set off from St Bees in Cumbria on Friday, 4th September 2026, making their way across England to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire.
They took on the epic challenge despite admitting that they had “never done anything like this before”.

They were driven on by their determination to support the three amazing charities set up in memory of Elsie, Alice and Bebe.
Their fundraising page will remain open until 19th November 2026 for anyone who would like to donate: Alan Goadsby is fundraising for Elsie’s Story

Alan Goadsby said: “It has now been a couple of weeks since we completed our walk from the West Coast to the East Coast of England for donations to Alice’s WonderDance, Bebe’s Hive UK and Elsie’s Story.
“As of today I am pleased to say we have raised £3,564.98 including gift aid which will be split between the three charities.
“We will keep our JustGiving page open until the 19th of November 2026.
“A massive thank you to everyone that has donated to these three amazing organisations, every donation and encouraging comment spurred us on.
“Thank you….
“Thank you to Alice, Bebe & Elsie, you powered every step and gave us strength when we needed it.

“Thanks to the families and people at Alice’s WonderDance, Bebe’s Hive UK and Elsie’s Story for setting up organisations that help our communities, you are amazing and we wanted to support you.
“Thanks to the GABA girls at GABA Clothing your resilience and empowerment is inspiring and we are behind you every step of the way.
“Thanks to our wives and families for all their support during the planning and time away on our C2C.
“Thanks to Neil Bailey for transporting us to the start and collecting us from the finish line.
“We did the Coast to Coast for donations to Alice’s WonderDance, Bebe’s Hive UK and Elsie’s Story. One donation to our JustGiving page splits the donation equally between all three so it’s a great way to donate to all three organisations in one go.

“Please tick gift aid if you can and edit the JustGiving tip to £1.50 or less as they default it to more than they need.”
Alan and John followed the Coast to Coast route from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire.
They set off on Friday 4th of September and did a mixture of camping and B&B / hostel / hotels each night.

Before they set off, Alan said: “We have never done anything like this before and are not particularly fit so it will be a challenge that we are not underestimating!
“We have bought clothing for the trek from Alice’s WonderDance, Bebe’s Hive, Elsie’s Story and GABA Foundation, spreading the word about the work they are doing.
“We are not up to running marathons so we opted for a long walk!”
