People in Southport are being asked to help to decorate a tree for Christmas, and to help those less fortunate in our community in the process.
The tree has been placed outside the Forty Seven cafe and bar at 47 Ovington Drive in Kew.
People can purchase their own bauble and tinsel from Forty Seven; Spar at 51 Ovington Drive in Kew; or Brook House Nurseries on Southport Road in Scarisbrick, which they can then take away and create before hanging on the tree.
All money raised through the appeal goes to the Light For Life charity, which does so much good work locally, including helping those under threat of becoming homeless.
You can buy your own bauble for £2, and your own tinsel for £2. Any further donations are gratefully accepted.
The initiative is the idea of Forty Seven owner Nik Weatherby, who has been supported by other local firms.
He said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to Brook House Nurseries and Carl and Sue Anderson for supplying our tree.
“Thanks so much to the people who have helped us get the tree up and ready today. So lovely of the community to get involved.
“The tree is ready to be decorated now and baubles and tinsel are on sale now.
“All money raised goes to an amazing local charity called Light for life which does so much work in Southport.”
Light for Life provides a range of services to support people in our community. These include Housing Advice and Assistance, Rough Sleeper services and Health and Wellbeing services.
