Southport Flower Show is delighted to announce that Kelvin and Liz Fletcher will be joining a top line-up of guests at this year’s Southport Flower Show.
They will be at Victoria Park on Thursday 14th August 2025.
Kelvin and Liz Fletcher are a dynamic duo best known for their diverse talents in acting and their heartwarming farming journey. Kelvin rose to fame for his iconic role as Andy Sugden in Emmerdale, a British soap opera he starred in for 20 years until 2016. His wife, Liz, is an actress with her own impressive repertoire in various productions.
The couple made headlines for their unexpected career pivot. In 2021, instead of heading for sunny California, the Fletchers chose a simpler, yet ambitious life by purchasing a stunning 18th-century, 120-acre farm in the picturesque Peak District. Trading Hollywood dreams for waterlogged fields, their journey highlights resilience, learning, and a growing love for agriculture.
Life on the Farm: The Fletchers’ Inspiring Story
Initially seeking a fresh start, Kelvin and Liz could not have foreseen their newfound passion for farming. What began as a leap into the unknown has blossomed into a life full of family togetherness, challenging new skills, and a deep appreciation for rural living. With each passing day, they navigated lambing seasons, cultivated the land, and fell in love with their humble yet fulfilling way of life.
Their experiences resonate deeply with audiences. It’s not just a story about farming; it’s about embracing life’s surprises and finding joy in the simplest moments.
Fletchers’ Family Farm: Capturing the Heart of the Countryside
The Fletchers’ journey is beautifully documented in the TV series Fletchers’ Family Farm. The show offers viewers an authentic look at their lives as novice farmers balancing parenthood and rural challenges. From lambing to pig breeding, it provides an endearing glimpse into their world.
First airing on ITV in 2023, the series captured hearts with its humour and raw authenticity. A second season in 2024 followed with even more farming adventures, culminating in a special Christmas episode filmed in Finland. The show’s success speaks to its ability to connect with viewers, who praise its warmth and relatability.
Southport Flower Show General Manager Alan Adams said:
“We can’t wait to welcome Kelvin and Liz to the show. We have a good mix of gardening guests and celebrity chefs at this year’s show and we know Kelvin and Liz will be a hit with our visitors.
“You will be able to catch them doing two Q&As in the Garden Theatre at 12pm and 3pm.”
This year’s Southport Flower Show will be held at the wonderful Victoria Park on Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th August 2025.
