A popular restaurant and bar in Birkdale Village in Southport has reopened today – an incredible 111 days since it was last able to welcome customers!
The Allotment, based on Liverpool Road, specialises in gins, cocktails and handcrafted gourmet burgers, loaded fries and an excellent selection of small plates.
The owners had hoped to reopen on Monday, 12 April, in line with other local businesses.
But after Sefton Council refused their proposals to erect a marquee in their beer garden, they postponed their plans.
Today they finally reopen, with a classy new outdoor area and a forecast for lots of sunny weather in the days ahead, including this weekend.
They said: “After 111 days since the doors were closed, we’re finally back open!
“We can’t wait to welcome you all back to try the new food and drink menu in our beautiful new garden.
“No need to book, it’s first come, first serve.”
