The Crystals and Crowns shop in Southport is inviting people to call into The Windmill pub this Saturday (19th April 2025) for a pop-up event during Easter weekend.

People are welcome to call into the pub, on Seabank Road, any time between 1pm and 5pm.

Crystals and Crowns owner Rosie Sutton will be selling goods including crystals and her hand-made fedoras.

The shop is based on Market Street, where roadworks are currently taking place to improve the Market Quarter area.

The Windmill owner Neil Walsh reached out to the Crystals and Crowns to come up with an innovative way of holding a pop-up shopping event to support another local independent business in Southport town centre.

The Windmill is one of the very best pubs in Merseyside, having been recognised as a Pub Of The Year Finalist in the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards for the past four years in a row.

The pub is famous for its delicious home-cooked food, with people calling in to shop also able to stay for a meal.

Neil Walsh said: “As many of you know intense roadworks are seriously disrupting the small businesses in and around Market Street.

“We saw Rosie at Crystals and Crowns’ post and asked if we could help offering a pop-up in our pub.

“We have:

– Easy access

– On street parking

– not a roadwork in sight

“If you’re about on Saturday between 1pm and 5pm pop in and have a look at her stuff including handmade fedoras!”

Rosie Sutton said: “Exciting news!

“And a change of plan for this Saturday… My shop on Market Street will be closed this Saturday as The Windmill has kindly offered me to have a pop-up stall in their beautiful pub.

“I will be there all afternoon on Saturday so please come along for some Easter Saturday joy.

“Massive thanks to them for helping out a fellow independent in a time of struggle.”

Crystals and Crowns sells crystals, craft, and hats.

The hats are hand-crafted using traditional heritage tools, sourced only from the UK and Ireland.

Designer Rosie Sutton says: “These hats are future vintage, containing no plastic, they are made using wool felt in Southport and hand decorated using vintage materials.

“They can be reshaped and the brim re-flattened as needed.

“If looked after they should last generations.”
