A community figure who launched a walking group to strengthen bonds between women locally has been recognised at the 2026 Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards.
Danielle Alzahabi was a Finalist in the Sefton Diversity and Inclusion Award sponsored by Sefton Council as the glittering ceremony took place at The Grand in Southport.
Danielle founded a Women’s Only Walking Group in Lydiate and Maghull.
She’s organised walks, social events and breakfast clubs for ladies, and is an advocate for women in local businesses.
Walks are organised to a local coffee shop, to artisan markets, local farm shops and pubs, with lots of friendly banter along the way.
One nomination for her said: “In May 2025, Danielle began a Women’s Only Walking Group around the Lydiate and Maghull Area. She has organised walks, social events and breakfast clubs for ladies. Most of the ladies are single and would otherwise not go out alone. Since beginning in May, the group has grown and many friendships have been made.
“Danielle is a great support to all the ladies, she offers a listening ear, is a positive impact on the group and even opened her business for drinks, food and a chat on Christmas Day.

“She is an advocate for women in business and encourages the group to support local businesses.
“Walks are organised to attend a local coffee shop, the artisan markets, local farm shops, local pubs and lots of friendly banter along the way.
“She never seeks recognition for her community spirit, kindness or friendship.
“Danielle is a true inspiration.”
