Erica Isherwood is doing a skydive to raise money for the Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals Charity

A Children’s Nurse is asking people to support her as she braves a skydive in Lancaster today!

Erica Isherwood will be making her leap of faith to raise funds for the Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals Charity.

She has raised nearly £1,000 so far – anyone who would like to sponsor Erica’s skydive can do so via her JustGiving page here

The Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals Charity exists to support patients and staff to improve the quality of care to patients.

Erica said: “I am preparing to take the leap, literally!

“On the 24th of September I will be skydiving to raise funds for Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Charity.

“I access these funds regularly in my role to support newly qualified Nurses, Midwives and AHPs.

“From badges, to survival packs, to graduation ceremonies – our staff deserve to feel valued and charitable funds have been with us every step of the way.

“At the hospital we have coped with two years like no other and it has been so, so, hard.

“I’m asking you to dig deep and donate so we can keep providing that support to staff, so they feel valued, motivated and looked after – they really do deserve it.

“Every penny counts and I know times are hard so I really do appreciate your support.

Thank you so much.”

Dozens of people have already donated, with lots of supportive messages on Erica’s JustGiving page.

Tony Wynne said: “What a great cause – and a fabulous way to raise some funds – I hope you enjoy the experience.”

Karen and Pete said: “Go Erica! You’ve got a lot of guts! It’s for an excellent cause though and the hospitals will really appreciate it.”

Mel Pinnington said: “Wow Erica ! You really do go above and beyond – this time the clouds.”
