Carlsberg are inviting people to raise a glass and celebrate the amazing people making a positive impact on their local community in Sefton.
Nominations are now open for the Sefton Community Impact Award category, sponsored by Carlsberg, in the 2026 Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards.
People are urged to shout out with suggestions of who goes the extra mile to improve where they live from anywhere in the borough, including Bootle, Southport, Formby, Crosby and Maghull.
A Carlsberg spokesperson said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Sefton Community Impact Awards at the 2026 Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards.
“We are looking forward to seeing people’s nominations.
“We would love you to tell us – which person or organisation has had the biggest positive impact on their community?
“How have they made Sefton a better place or helped people? Have they used their heart as well as their business head to serve their area?”

This year’s Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards will take place at The Grand on Lord Street in Southport on Friday, 24th April 2026.

Last year’s Sefton Community Impact Award winner was Jinnie Payne, the Headteacher at Churchtown Primary School in Southport.
Following the Southport tragedy in the summer of 2024, which saw one pupil and a former pupil from Churchtown Primary School sadly lose their life, Mrs Payne stepped up to support children at the school, local families and members of staff all deeply affected.
School was opened throughout that summer to support families.
Along with the families of the girls who lost their lives Mrs Payne led a huge fundraising campaign which raised over £300,000.
It led to the creation of a brand new playground and library at Churchtown Primary School as a lasting legacy.
Mrs Payne couldn’t make the Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards last year because she was getting to raise funds for the playground and library appeal by running the London Marathon the following day, alongside Sergio Aguiar and other supporters.
Celebrated as a Finalist last year was fellow Churchtown Primary School teacher Pip Coysh, who founded, runs and manages a group for bereaved children and young carers, known as her ‘Chipmunks.’
She arranges experiences for them, including Christmas outings, parties and adventures they may not normally get a chance to enjoy.
Nothing is too much trouble, her door is always open, her ears always ready to listen.

Also a Finalist last year was Lucinda Golightly.
Lucinda launched The Cupboard Southport in 2021 to help struggling families.
The cupboard collects and distributes food collected from local supermarkets that would have gone into landfill.
This food is available for anyone in the community and is offered free.
It has had a massive impact not only on the users but also on the amount of food waste.

The Pride Of Sefton Awards, organised by Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group and Stand Up For Southport with support from In Demand Radio, is an unmissable fixture in the Liverpool City Region events calendar.
The ceremony will be presented by In Demand Radio presenter Claire Simmo.
All those on the shortlist will be invited to a special celebratory meal in the beautiful surroundings of The Princess Grace Suite at The Grand in Southport on Friday 24th April 2026 while the awards are presented, with a stunning night of entertainment planned.
Nominations are still being invited across all 13 categories ahead of the closing date on 1st March 2026.
