Organisers are inviting your nominations from Southport, Bootle, Crosby, Formby, Maghull, Aintree, and across the borough.

The Grand Pride of Sefton Awards 2025 promises to be an unforgettable evening, bringing together local heroes, community leaders, and organisations to celebrate Sefton’s finest.
Last year’s Sefton Courage Award winner was Barbara Rouse.
Barbara has been active in the Bootle community for most of her life and is known as ‘The Duchess of Bootle’.
After overcoming cancer, she raised thousands of pounds for Cancer Research by abseiling Liverpool Cathedral as ‘SpiderNan’.
She has volunteered with Bootle YMCA for 46 years and saved it from closure and led improvements in Derby Park for 30 years
Honoured as a Finalist was Denise Lloyd.
Denise has dedicated her career at Bluebird Sefton to being a professional Carer and Manager working on the frontline in the community.
She has cared for countless individuals, each with their own unique needs.
When one elderly lady with dementia needed urgent medical attention, Denise refused to leave her side even as the ambulance took hours to arrive.
Our second Finalist was Nicola Shield.
After suffering an ectopic pregnancy, Nicola became an ambassador for Cradle, helping women and families through pregnancy loss. In this incredibly dark and difficult situation she chose to try and help others who are going through a similar loss.
The Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards, organised by Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group and Stand Up For Southport, is an unmissable fixture in the Liverpool City Region events calendar, in association with In Demand Radio.
The ceremony will be presented by In Demand Radio presenter Claire Simmo.
All those on the shortlist will be invited to a special celebratory meal in the beautiful surroundings of The Princess Grace Suite at The Grand in Southport while the awards are presented, with a stunning night of entertainment planned.
Nominations are still being invited across all 13 categories ahead of the closing date on 1st March 2025.
