Bliss Hotel in Southport will close its doors this Saturday.
The venue’s owners said it was ‘merely the end of a chapter’ as they said the arrival of Coronavirus had left them ‘devastated’.
Bliss also operates the neighbouring Southport Theatre & Convention Centre and The Waterfront area.
It had been looking forward to the official opening of its stunning new event space, Room, with its stunning views across the Marine Lake, later this month.
A Bliss Hotel spokesman said: “The last few weeks have been strange, worrying and extremely challenging for us all. The government is now wisely recommending that we all stay at home to avoid unnecessary contact; schools and nurseries will be closing tomorrow, and the hospitality industry is facing the hardest moment in its history.
Southport firms remain open during outbreak – please support!
“It is with heavy, heavy hearts that we will be closing the doors of Bliss Hotel once all guests have checked out on Saturday morning. Bliss is a labour of love for us, we’ve worked for over ten years to bring it to fruition and for this to happen when such incredible momentum was building is devastating for us all.
“We will be in contact with all of our guests who have stays and soirees scheduled in with us over the coming months to make new arrangements, but in the meantime, we would like you all to keep safe and well.
“This is not the end of the road for Bliss; it’s merely the end of a chapter – so until the next page, let’s stick together, look after one another and think of the party we will have once this strange time has come to an end.
“We leave you with this perfect image we captured earlier from our brand new event space, Room.
“The sun is setting over our lovely Southport, and it will be back out to shine again tomorrow.”
