The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw is back!
This yearly Slimming World campaign is running from 30th March to 12th April 2025.
Southport Consultant Dee Wright said: “Last year my incredible three groups donated 736 bags filled with clothes and accessories they had slimmed out of and clothes the children had grown out of too!
“Each filled bag is worth approximately £30 to Cancer Research UK, so we raised over £22,000 and the millions of pounds that our Slimming World groups raise in the UK and Ireland each year in this single event helps Cancer Research UK to make faster progress towards their vision of a world where people can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.”
The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw is about so much more than bags of clothes. It shows everyone that the real results that our members see on the scales lead to even greater things.
By giving away the clothes they’ll never need again thanks to the healthy habits they’ve created they inspire everyone around them: their fellow members, friends and family, and our Southport community.
Dee Wright said: “It’s always a pleasure to see the excitement in group when The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw comes around.
“When you’re losing weight, it can be easy to focus on the number on the scales without realising how many non-scale victories are happening in the background, like our changing dress sizes and body shapes.”
Dee says anyone wanting to donate can take part, if you are a member of a group, please chat to your Slimming World Consultant about how you can donate. Some groups will have collections and small donations of bags can be taken along to the Cancer Research Superstore on Central 12 retail park in Southport – please ring in advance to check they can take your donation.
Over the years, Slimming World has raised more than £25 million for Cancer Research UK through a variety of campaigns including The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw and supporting the charity’s Race for Life event series, we are the official sponsor for the event this year and you can find out more in your local group.
