In a dazzling celebration of its 20th anniversary, Big Kid Circus is set to unveil a groundbreaking spectacle in 2025 that promises to captivate audiences across the United Kingdom. With the spotlight shining brightly on a towering 30-foot King Kong, the circus’s newest feature is poised to amaze children and adults alike, creating an unforgettable experience for all who attend.
A Colossal Star Takes Centre Stage
The Kingdom of Kong is a bold and imaginative centrepiece that marks a milestone in the evolution of Big Kid Circus. The 30-foot animatronic King Kong, the first of its kind in the UK, is the result of months of meticulous planning, cutting-edge technology, and artistic craftsmanship. This colossal figure promises to come alive before audiences, blending thrilling realism with the fantastical charm of the circus.
“The Kingdom of Kong is unlike anything we’ve ever done,” said Julia Kirilova, Creative Director of Big Kid Circus. “We wanted to mark our 20th anniversary with something truly unique, something that would not only entertain but also inspire a sense of wonder.”
From heart-stopping acrobatics to jaw-dropping stunts, King Kong will play a pivotal role in the performance, interacting with the show’s diverse ensemble of artists and bringing a new dimension of storytelling to the traditional circus format.
A Global Cast of Talent
One of the hallmarks of Big Kid Circus has always been its commitment to showcasing performers from around the world, and this year’s show is no exception. The 2025 cast features an extraordinary lineup of artists hailing from every corner of the globe, each bringing their unique cultural flair to the production.
Among the highlights is an Ethiopian aerialist whose breathtaking silks routine promises to defy gravity and mesmerize audiences. From Tanzania, a troupe of dancers will bring the dynamic energy of their homeland to the stage, blending traditional African rhythms with contemporary choreography. Mexico’s contribution comes in the form of daring tightrope walkers whose precision and courage are sure to leave spectators on the edge of their seats. Meanwhile, Brazilian performers will add a carnival-like vibrancy with their samba-infused acts.
“The circus show is a universal language,” said Gaskin. “It transcends borders and brings people together. We’re incredibly proud of the diversity in our cast and the way they represent the rich tapestry of cultures around the world.”
20 Years of Wonder and Joy
Founded in 2005, Big Kid Circus has grown from humble beginnings into a beloved institution in the UK’s entertainment landscape. Over the past two decades, it has become synonymous with family-friendly fun, creativity, and a commitment to excellence. From juggling and clowning to cutting-edge aerial displays, the circus has consistently pushed boundaries to deliver unforgettable shows.
“Reaching 20 years is a huge milestone for us,” said Julia Kirilova. “It’s a testament to the hard work of everyone involved, from our performers to our behind-the-scenes team, and of course, the loyal audiences who have supported us over the years.”
To celebrate this anniversary, the circus has not only expanded its offerings but also invested in state-of-the-art technology and facilities. The Kingdom of Kong, for instance, features a sophisticated animatronic system that brings the giant gorilla to life with expressive movements and lifelike roars, adding a layer of drama and excitement to the show.
A Show for the Ages
Audiences can expect more than just the spectacle of King Kong. The 2025 production is designed to be an immersive experience that combines traditional circus artistry with innovative theatrical elements. A live band will provide a dynamic soundtrack, complementing the visual feast of acrobatics, juggling, and comedy.
The storyline weaves together themes of adventure, resilience, and the power of collaboration, as the performers team up to “tame” the mighty Kong and bring harmony to their fictional world. It’s a narrative that promises to resonate with audiences of all ages, blending humor, drama, and heartwarming moments.
Tour Dates and Venues
The Kingdom of Kong will embark on a nationwide tour beginning in the spring of 2025, visiting major cities as well as smaller towns to bring the magic of Big Kid Circus to communities across the UK. From London to Edinburgh, Birmingham to Cardiff, the tour promises to be one of the most ambitious in the circus’s history.
“We’re thrilled to take this show on the road,” said Julia Kirilova. “There’s nothing quite like the energy of a live audience, and we can’t wait to share The Kingdom of Kong with people everywhere.”
