The Beer At The Pier beer festival is back for its second outing this September – even bigger and better than last year.

The vibrant Oktoberfest-themed celebration has been extended from a one-day to a two-day event, on Saturday and Sunday 19th-20th September 2026 from midday until late.

It is completely free to attend and family-friendly – dogs welcome too.

Beer At The Pier is organised by Southport Hesketh Round Table and supported by Silcock Leisure Group, with proceeds raised going towards the local community.

Beer At The Pier will take place inside and outside Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant, on the Southport Pier forecourt.

There will be live music to enjoy throughout the weekend.

People can savour a selection of delicious German lagers from Wigan Beer Company, plus a choice of German-themed food including bratwurst, sauerkraut, black forest ice cream, donut ice cream, apple strudels and more.

Silcock Leisure Group Operations Manager Serena Silcock-Prince said:

“Last year’s Beer At The Pier festival went so well that we’re excited to announce we’ll be bringing it back this year, but this time across the whole weekend.

“We have had so much positive feedback from everyone last time who really enjoyed it and wanted to come back this year.

“This event is very much family friendly. Our Carousel will be operating late, and Silcock’s Funland will be open too.

“We’re dog friendly too so bring your pets along.

“This is a completely free festival, no need to book, so just walk in any time you like and stay as long as you like.

“Everyone from Southport Hesketh Round Table along with the Silcock Leisure Group team will be dressed in Bavarian lederhosen and dirndls – people are welcome to arrive in fancy dress if they wish.

“We’re delighted to be able to welcome Southport Town Crier Kevin Ruane MBE, who will be officially opening Beer At The Pier at midday on Saturday 19th September.

“We will have our special German themed food menu for people to enjoy, plus our full menu with our famous fish and chips and more.

“We’re hoping for good weather, so people can enjoy sipping German beers while sitting on the benches outside, or on The Balcony Bar overlooking the beautiful Kings Gardens.

“We’re in the process of putting together our line-up of live music and entertainment, which we’ll share soon.

“It’s going to be a fantastic weekend!”

A Southport Hesketh Round Table spokesperson said:

“It’s going to be a fabulous event, and we would love to see people come and join us on what will be a really fun day.

“All money raised will be going to a fantastic cause, and we’ll have a family friendly atmosphere.

“After the success of Beer At The Pier last year, we’re delighted to make it even bigger and better this year.”
