Beer At The Pier festival invites families to enjoy Oktoberfest fun with live music, Bavarian beer and food

Everything is ready for the return of the Beer At The Pier beer festival in Southport this weekend! 

The Oktoberfest themed celebration has been extended from one day to two days this year, and will take place on Saturday and Sunday 19th-20th September 2026 from midday until late. 

Admission to this family-friendly event is free, with all welcome. 

Beer At The Pier will take place inside and outside Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant, on the Southport Pier forecourt, and in the Balcony Bar, overlooking Kings Gardens and the Marine Lake. 

The event is organised by Silcock Leisure Group and Southport Hesketh Round Table.

You can enjoy German beers; an exciting line-up of live music; a friendly and welcoming atmosphere; Oktoberfest themed decorations; activities for children. 

People will be munchen their way through delicious German food such as bratwurst sausages, chicken schnitzel, sauerkraut and the return of Silcock’s famous black forest doughnuts, and apple strudels. 

There will be a choice of three Bavarian beers on draught, courtesy of ABK brewery, which has been brewing beer in Munich for over 700 years.

Also on offer will be a range of German themed cocktails, Jagermeisters, gluhwein, wine, prosecco, cider, spirits and 0% drinks from the Balcony Bar.

Singers will be performing from 1pm each day until late, with acts including: Kirstie Mitchell, Catch 22, Nicola Hardman, Nina Condron, Liz Owen, Mike Ryan and Ella Maddocks. 

Southport Hesketh Round Table is organising a raffle, with great prizes to be won, with proceeds going to support local community initiatives. 

The Silcock’s team and Round Table volunteers will be dressed in Bavarian costumes, with fancy dress welcome on the day – with prizes for the best dressed! 

Southport Town Crier Kevin Ruane MBE will officially open the beer festival at midday on Saturday.

Silcock Leisure Group Operations Manager Serena Silcock-Prince said: 

“We’re all really looking forward to the return of the Beer At The Pier Festival this weekend! 

“We’ve got a great line-up of live music throughout Saturday and Sunday – it’s going to be a fantastic atmosphere! 

“The weather is looking good this weekend so people will be able to sit either inside or outside, whichever they prefer. 

“We want this to be a really family-friendly event so we will have some fun activities for children to enjoy. We also have prizes on offer for the best adult and children fancy dress costumes!

“The wonderful Kirstie Mitchell is leading our live music offering, we can’t wait to see them all. 

“This event is completely free to attend. We have a special Oktoberfest menu available as well as our full main menu, including our famous fish and chips. 

“Our Oktoberfest decorations are going up this week and our team, plus the Round Table volunteers, are all looking forward to coming in their best Bavarian lederhosen and dirndls! It’s going to be lots of fun.

“As well as our Beer At The Pier Festival, Kings Gardens has lots to offer families too. 

“Our iconic Silcock’s Carousel will be open all day, as will Silcock’s Funland and our Hall of Mirrors.

“Head down and play a round of crazy golf at Masters Putting Green, enjoy the boats on the Marine Lake, try the adventure playground, look around the Model Railway Village, or walk around the lake or through King’s Gardens. 

“We’d love to invite everyone to come and join us for what is going to be a fantastic weekend.” 

A Southport Hesketh Round Table spokesperson said:

“It’s going to be a fabulous event, and we would love to see people come and join us on what will be a really fun Saturday and Sunday. 

“All money raised will be going to a fantastic cause, and we’ll have a family friendly atmosphere. 

“After the success of Beer At The Pier last year, we’re delighted to make it even bigger and better this year.”
