A popular Southport shop which sells baby and children’s clothing and accessories is delighted at how busy the new Beales department store has been since it opened last Thursday (12th August).

Baby Love, which has a shop on the picturesque Wesley Street, is among several local businesses which have opened concessions inside the new department store on Lord Street.

They were thrilled to see hundreds of people queuing outside waiting for the store’s official opening, and have been heartened to see local people continuing to support it ever since.

Established in 2008, this bright ‘shabby chic’ style shop is infused with pastel pinks and blues offering a stunning range of baby wear, gifts and accessories for that special someone.

With a luxurious range of moses baskets by Izziwotnot, beautiful gifts by Bam Bam and a wide range of baby wear from 0-2 years you’re sure to find something a little bit different.

If you want to make your gift extra special we can embroider your baby’s name on a range of items from bibs to bathrobes within the hour.

Chloe Simms, who owns the Baby Love, is delighted to now be selling her range of baby and children’s clothing in Beales.

She said: “It has been really good! Every town needs a department store.

“It is really good to have Beales back in Southport. There are a few new concessions in here now, which is really positive.

“I think it is great. It has certainly been very busy since they opened!

“People have missed having a department store here in Southport.

“From what people have told me, they are very excited at the prospect of coming back in to have a look around.”

Beales owner Tony Brown said: “We still have new brands due to come into the store, and we are always interested in talking to other local businesses who may be interested in joining us. We have more things to come.

“We are now looking forward to The Perfume Shop joining us, which we expect will be trading from Sunday morning, while our new Remedy at Beales cafe will also be trading soon.”
