Ainsdale Show in Southport returns for 101st time with fairground rides, live music, arena events and more

The 101st Ainsdale Show takes place this weekend! 

One of the oldest community events in the UK, which was first held in 1922, will be held on the Village Green in Ainsdale, Southport, and in Ainsdale Methodist Church from 10am onwards this Saturday (1st July 2023). 

The family-friendly occasion is free to attend, a change from previous years, and will feature a large fairground on the Village Green, Arena events, Kids’ Zone, bungy jump, children’s entertainer Mr Stix, stalls and more. 

Horticultural displays, floral art and children’s exhibits will be on show in the Ainsdale Methodist Church Hall between 11am and 4.30pm.

It will be followed this Sunday (2nd July) by a car boot sale from 8am and then a brand new Ainsdale Summer Show Music On The Green event from 12pm on Sunday (2nd July 2023).

Mike Byrne and the Sunrockers will then be presenting fantastic music from the 1950s and 1960s followed by a Robbie Williams Tribute with Matt Byrne. Admission is free. 

Visitors can enjoy five hours of live music between midday and 5pm with fairground rides, a licensed bar and food. 

The Financial Planning Corporation in Ainsdale is delighted to be the headline sponsor of this year’s Ainsdale Summer Show. 

The event, organised by Ainsdale Horticultural Society, will be officially opened by Southport MP Damien Moore and Silcock Leisure Group Operations Manager Serena Silcock. 

An Ainsdale Horticultural Society spokesperson said: “The exhibitors, our showground entertainment, the pet show, our sponsors, our traders, the cakes and beer, craft stalls, our members and visitors will all be back on Saturday 1st July 2023 for our 101st Show.

“We will have all the favourite attractions including the arena attractions, a large fairground, craft fair, trade, charity stalls, a bar and catering units. The horticultural and children’s exhibits will be shown in the Methodist Church. 

“Entry to the village green will be free for all and we hope families will come to enjoy all the attractions.”
