It’s back! The Stand up for Southport People’s Choice Award gives you the chance to say a heartfelt thank you to the NHS heroes who have gone above and beyond for you or your loved ones.
Last year, the Paediatric Department at Ormskirk Hospital took home the award after readers praised their outstanding care for children with complex health needs.
Families described how the team consistently go above and beyond to provide compassionate, holistic and expert care in some of the most challenging circumstances.
This year’s winner will be celebrated at the2026 Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Staff Awards, held at the Liverpool Arena in June.
The ceremony – funded entirely through external support and at no cost to the NHS – will also recognise exceptional colleagues through categories such as Employee of the Year and Team of the Year.
The awards are all about celebrating the incredible dedication of staff across Southport and Ormskirk hospitals and our community NHS services. You can nominate an individual, a team, a ward or a whole department – any member of staff who has made a real difference.
