The 2026 Southport Comedy Festival, in association with Halliwell Jones Kia Southport, has announced yet another headline act for next year’s 15th annual festival — and in time for anyone still hunting for a last-minute Christmas gift for the comedy fan in their life.
Multi award winning comedian and writer Scott Bennett as seen on Live At The Apollo, The Royal Variety Performance and heard on The News Quiz and Parenting Hell will be performing his very personal, true story Blood Sugar Baby at the festival on Wednesday 14th October 2026.
The critically acclaimed show, described by The Times as ‘a wonderfully hopeful, often hilarious show from a properly funny man’ has been extended due to overwhelming demand.
Tickets are on sale from 10am Friday 19th December 2025.
Scott Bennett: Blood Sugar Baby
One family, one condition, one hell of a hairy baby. Scott Bennett’s show tells the amazing true story of how his daughter fell ill with a rare genetic condition, congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI). Never heard of it? Neither had Scott and Jemma.
Yes, it’s a story about an ill baby, but it’s a very funny one with a happy ending, as new parents Scott and Jemma fight to get the right diagnosis for their daughter and are plunged into months of bewildering treatment, sleepless nights, celebrity encounters and bizarre side effects.

Scott Bennett becomes the fourth act to be announced for the 2026 programme, joining German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn , King of the One Liner Gary Delaney, and Laura Smyth, the rapidly rising comedy and TV star, as seen on Live at the Apollo, QI, Would I Lie To You and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
The 15th annual Southport Comedy Festival runs from 2nd–18th October 2026, returning for the sixth year to the luxury, fully-seated and heated marquee provided by Elite Events, set in the stunning grounds of Victoria Park, home of the world-famous Southport Flower Show. Over 6,000 people attended in 2025, with a record-breaking ten sell-out shows, making it the most successful festival to date.

More exciting names will be announced in the coming months. Keep an eye on the festival website or join the mailing list to be the first to hear who will be bringing big laughs to Southport in 2026:
