The Santa Sprint is back this December with people invited to turn Southport into a sea of red while raising funds for Queenscourt Hospice.

Silcock Leisure Group is pleased to once again be a sponsor for this iconic family event, for the 16th year in a row.

It takes place starting from on Sunday 7th December 2025 from 10am with runners able to sign up here: Santa Sprint 3K & 5K – Queenscourt Hospice

Participants of all ages will meet at Silcock’s Funland.

Registration will be at Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant, where everyone taking part will be able to enjoy a free hot drink and discounted bacon barms.

Santas will be able to enjoy a free ride on the legendary Silcock’s Carousel – recently voted the 4th best seaside attraction in the UK.

For the first time this year, entrants will be able to enjoy a free game of crazy golf at the neighbouring Masters Putting Green, which is celebrating its 60th birthday this year.

Silcock’s has once again donated £1,000 to support the work of Queenscourt Hospice as part of their sponsorship.

Silcock Leisure Group Operations Manager Serena Silcock-Prince has had another busy year supporting Queenscourt Hospice, as she has done for many years.

In March she was a headline speaker at the International Women’s Day event held at The Grand for Queenscourt; in August, she was among guests and provided prizes for the Queenscourt Summer Ball; and on 15th November she will be dancing at the Prince Of Wales Hotel in the Strictly event to raise funds for the hospice.

Serena Silcock-Prince said:

“As one of the region’s favourite leisure businesses for families, we have always loved Christmas!

“We are delighted to be long-term supporters, hosts and sponsors of the Southport Santa Sprint for Queenscourt Hospice.

“It’s always an amazing sight with hundreds of Santas all meeting at Silcock’s Funland, riding around the Carousel, playing crazy golf, and running or walking through Southport to raise as much money as they can for such a superb local charity.

“There is still time to sign up! We hope to see lots of people there this year, it’s going to be lots of fun.

“The Southport Santa Sprint brings people together in such a great way. There are big groups; whole families; children; people on their own; lots of dog walkers; and it’s also great to see the paddle boarders from SUP North getting involved.

“Our business and our family have been big supporters of Queenscourt Hospice for many years and are very grateful for the incredible work they do.”

December will be a fun time for people to visit the Promenade in Southport.

Serena said: “December is a busy time of year for us, as we’re once again organising our popular Breakfast With Santa events at Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant, which will be looking more festive than ever.

“We already have lots of festive prizes to be won in our Prize Shop and in our machines at Silcock’s Funland where we’re firmly in the festive spirit.

“Silcock’s Funland remains open seven days a week while our famous Carousel is open every Saturday and Sunday, and then every day except Christmas Day during the school winter holidays.

“We’re looking forward to seeing everyone.”

The Southport Santa Sprint is now in its 17th year and has raised over £157,000 in that time.

It is a full family affair, with members of every generation coming together – even your dog can take part!
