The opening date has been revealed for the new LOL Bingo in Southport.
The new venture will open its doors at 229-233 Lord Street (on the corner of Lord Street and Scarisbrick Avenue) at 10am this Friday (3rd October 2025).
The lounge will run a full weekend of Opening Celebrations from Friday 3rd October – Sunday 5th October, with visitors receiving some complimentary fizz, on arrival, a tour of the lounge and some complimentary bingo credits – visitors over the weekend also get the chance to win a 32” TV in a free draw.
Work in the former Lavish Homes unit has been happening at pace in recent weeks.
LOL Bingo Lounge Manager Jenny Phillips and her team have been on hand at the front of the attraction, chatting with interested passers-by and helping people who want to sign up to become members.
So far over 1,000 people have joined with all eyes down on the grand opening date.
Jenny said: “We are so excited to be opening LOL Bingo here in Southport!
“We have had so many lovely comments from people walking past.

“Everyone’s very curious about what this place is going to be like and what they can expect!
“The feedback has been brilliant. So many people have missed being able to play bingo since Mecca Bingo on Lord Street closed around the time of the pandemic.
“But LOL Bingo is investing in its smartest lounge and bringing Bingo back to the town!
“There will be lots to enjoy here. We will have a bingo area, where people will be able to join in with players at our sites in Manchester and Newcastle via an interactive communication hub.
“Our bingo section hosts up to 24 people at any one time (but we’ve already decided to increase to 32 seats with more to come if needed.
Using the very latest in interactive tech, our customers will be able to chat to our callers and other players in a number of UK venues.

“This is bingo for the modern age. Rather than being limited to what times you can and can’t come in, we’ll be open from 10am until midnight seven days a week.
“You’ll be able to come in at a time that suits you and play for as long or as little as you want.
“Towards the back of the room, we will have two interactive dartboards and American pool.
“We have free tea and coffee for customers, along with a free jukebox so you can choose your own music.
“The lounge will have some of the best slots in Southport.
“We have two areas to relax, which look out onto the iconic Lord Street, where you’ll be able to come in and have a chat, or sit back with a coffee and watch the world go by!
“We’ve got some new planters coming, and the lettering on our signs will be hand-written in gold leaf, to match the business next door. We have been working closely with Sefton Council’s Conservation Team to ensure we create a positive frontage on Lord Street. We’re keeping the clear windows. There’ll be no garish neon or flashing signs or anything like that.
“The building’s landlord, Mike McComb, started off the revamp by renovating both the frontage and the veranda.
“LOL Bingo will be wheelchair accessible, and we have installed a new disability friendly toilet.
“We love Southport! We’re very much invested in the local community and we’re really keen to get involved in helping to make Southport a better place.
“We’re lucky to have some great neighbours on Lord Street who’ve given us a really warm welcome, including at places such as The Auld Dubliner, Hideaway, Nostalgia Tea Rooms, Diva fish and chips, The Scarisbrick Hotel and others. Everyone’s supporting each other.
“If you’re on Lord Street in the next few days, please come over and say hello, we’d love to meet everyone and let people know what you can look forward to.”
Mike Smith, the Director of LOL Bingo, has personally invested over £350,000 into this venture and has created over eight new jobs and is becoming a big fan of the area.
He said “There are lots of positive changes happening in the town centre soon, with big investment in the Northern Quarter and Market Quarter and the new Marine Lake Events Centre.
“I’m determined that LOL Bingo will be a great addition to Lord Street and the wider Southport community.”
This will be the third LOL Bingo in the UK, adding to other sites already operational in Harpurhey (Manchester) & Wallsend (Newcastle). The firm has big ambitions to keep growing and to open more lounges in the coming years.
