Southport Football Club are delighted to reveal that Tom Moore will become their new Captain, with Danny Lloyd taking up the role of Vice-Captain.

The local duo both had impressive seasons personally in the last campaign, with Tom Moore winning Players’ Player of the Season and Media Player of the Season, and Danny Lloyd being the Leading Goalscorer.

The captain’s armband will be a familiar feel for Tom Moore, having led Bury FC to the play-off final in 2024, narrowly missing out on penalties to Wythenshawe Town.

Tom Moore said: “I am thrilled and honoured to be chosen as Captain by the gaffer for the new season.

”I’m looking forward to leading the team out to exciting times ahead and hopefully this season will be a positive one for us all.

“Coming off the back of last season, we as a club and players know that it is not the standard the fans expect.

”With exciting times ahead on and off the pitch, this is now a chance where we can give the fans something to shout about. Here’s to a positive 2025-26 season. ”

Danny Lloyd said: “I’m really pleased to be selected as Vice-Captain for the upcoming campaign. I’m really looking forward to supporting Tom as Captain, the gaffer, staff, and all the lads on and off the pitch throughout what’s going to be another incredibly competitive campaign.

”I can’t wait to get going this weekend against Merthyr and hoping to see as many of you as possible down there. Here’s to a competitive and successful season.”
