Patrick Hurley MP for Southport has announced a series of public workshop meetings across all seven wards / areas in the constituency, inviting residents to share their ideas and priorities for the future of Southport.

The Ideas for Southport events are designed as informal, open workshop-like sessions where constituents can speak directly with their MP, raise local issues, and suggest ways to improve life in their community. Each area will host one event.

Southport MP Patrick Hurley said:

“Southport is full of ideas, and I want to make sure those voices are being heard in Parliament and beyond.

“We’ve had some important local wins recently, including government backing to fund the restoration of Southport Pier and the transformation of the Town Hall Gardens.

“But there is still more to do. From empty shops on the high street to poor rail links between Southport and Manchester, we must keep banging the drum for our town.

“I believe Southport’s best days are still ahead of us, but to get there we need local ideas and local voices to help tackle the challenges we face.”

The events follow Patrick’s Big Conversation survey earlier this year, which received hundreds of responses from local people. The upcoming workshops are the next step in ensuring residents stay at the heart of shaping Southport’s future.

All events are open to the public, but you must RSVP, with refreshments provided. A full list of venues, dates, and times can be found here:

The Ideas for Southport series include events in all six Sefton council wards of Southport and one event in the Northern Parishes.
