The owners of Kalash Divine Indian in Southport have welcomed the first diners into their newly expanded restaurant.
Ranjeet Singh and Alvino Cardozo invested in acquiring and then converting the adjacent former Boulevard West bar after their growing success.
The expansion means that Kalash Divine Indian, which specialises in authentic Indian food, can now accommodate bigger functions, parties and events, growing from 60 covers to over 100.
It follows the recent move by Kalash to increase its opening hours to seven days a week.
Kalash has grown more and more popular since opening its doors five years ago.
It has meant some people have sometimes been unable to secure tables, particularly during busy weekends.
The extra space means that more people can now dine at one of the town’s top rated restaurants, which is situated at 1-5 Lord Street in Southport town centre.
Ranjeet Singh and Alvino Cardozo said: “We were really pleased to be able to welcome customers into our newly expanded restaurant this weekend!
“It has been very busy. We have had some fantastic feedback from people, who love the changes and the fact we now have more space for everyone.
“We were fully booked. There has been a really great atmosphere, and it was very well received.
“We recently marked our fifth birthday at Kalash, and investing in developing our restaurant has been the perfect way of celebrating our anniversary.
“We always strive to keep improving the dining experience for our customers.
“The northern end of Lord Street has seen lots of investment in recent years while the southern end has had its struggles, but things are looking very positive now.
“We have some great neighbouring businesses here who are really pleased to see we have expanded Kalash. They have given us their best wishes and it is wonderful to see their support.
“With new investment also coming in at The Garrick and the new Wetherspoon Hotel on the way we will see this part of town really flourish.
“We can now accommodate more than 100 covers.
“It means that if we get a booking for a big event, if it’s 20, 30, people, then we can cater for them.
“We specialise in authentic Indian food, but with events we can also provide other cuisines too, we can offer a selection of sandwiches, salads, wraps etc.
“We are open for birthday celebrations, anniversaries, work nights out, corporate events and more.”
Kalash Diving Indian is looking forward to a busy Christmas season.
Ranjeet Singh and Alvino Cardozo said: “We are open on Christmas Day, and have created a special festive menu, showcasing the very best of regional Indian cuisine.
“It has been incredibly popular and we are nearly fully booked, with just a few spaces left.
“The menu has had a really good response. People want to experience something a little bit different, and it is great value for money.
“We are busy in the run-up to Christmas with lots of families and work parties coming into join us.
“We look forward to welcoming people into our new look Kalash Divine Indian.”
