Guest Blog by Nicole Fewtrell, Compassion Acts

This September we will be bringing joy to the local community by delivering various acts of kindness.

Remember how the spontaneous acts of kindness in the aftermath of the recent tragedies and riots made you feel? Are you proud of your community and its people?

We will be partnering with Sefton Council/Sefton CVS and any local businesses who want to get involved to ‘share the love’ a bit more and make this September just a little bit brighter.

There could be lots of small ways in which people’s lives can be made that little bit better, e.g:

  • Know someone who needs a broken gate mending?
  • Perhaps their grass has become a little overgrown?
  • Or maybe they are deserving of a treat to the cinema or a family day out?

The limit is your imagination. Open to residents of Southport, we will be asking members of the public to help us by nominating friends, family or neighbours for a helping hand (follow our socials for more information on how to do this). Community Acts of Kindness will run throughout the month of September, with nominations opening on Monday 2 September.

At the end of the month, everyone involved in the Community Acts of Kindness Month; nominators, nominees, donors, and the team will receive an invitation to a special celebration tea party.
