People are loving a new pop-up dessert bar that has opened inside Southport Market.
Bar Crumble is a dream for anyone who loves crumble based puddings.
The venue opened today (Thursday, 16th February 2023) and will be in place through until this Sunday (19th February 2023).
It will then return for further pop-up appearances on dates such as Mother’s Day and Easter.
It is the brainchild of local business owners and food lovers Banico and Jodie Zeniou, who opened their popular Pitamu Greek street food stall inside Southport Market in July 2021.
They have been enjoying rave reviews from their first customers with their new venture and are keen to hear what people think.

They are aiming to take Bar Crumble to outdoor events and festivals including Southport Food and Drink Festival this summer.
The name is a play on the ‘Bah Humbug’ phrase with all the dishes having fun, grumpy sounding names with lots to delight people of all ages.
There are a range of choices of offer, including ‘The Boring Classic’ (sweet apple, crumble and custard topped with shortbread biscuit); ‘The Creme Bru-Late’ (mixed berry fruit, crumble, custard and cracking sugar topping); ‘The Moody Pink Lady’ (sweet apple, crumble, pink and white fresh whipped cream, finished with rose petals and gold dust); and ‘I Hate Chocolate’ (mixed berry fruit, crumble, Nutella and whipped cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce and chocolate curls).

For children, in a smaller tub, there is ‘The Irritating Bambino’ (crumble, custard and one topping) with a choice of toppings including: chocolate curls, crushed meringue, crushed hazelnuts, almond flakes, crushed chocolate Oreos, mini fudge pieces and Lotus crushed biscuit.
Diners have the chance to win a free crumble, by taking a photo, posting on Instagram and tagging @bar_crumble to be entered into a draw.
Bar Crumble co-owner Jodie Zeniou said:
“We opened Bar Crumble today, and are here until Sunday.
“It is going well so far! We are looking forward to coming back to Southport Market with more pop-up events later this year.
“We are planning to return on dates including Mother’s Day and Easter, and will be theming our crumbles to reflect those occasions.
“Banico and I opened this venture because we both love crumble!
“It is also a very popular, traditional British pudding, and we thought people would really enjoy it.
“Our customers so far are particularly loving our traditional apple crumble with custard, and our chocolate themed one.
“We have also created a smaller crumble with custard without fruit for young children to enjoy.
“We can’t wait to take Bar Crumble out to events and festivals such as the Southport Food and Drink Festival this year.”
