Sefton’s Holocaust Memorial Day will take place at Christ Church on Lord Street in Southport town centre on Sunday 29th January 2023 at 1.30pm. All are welcome.

The annual event has been organised  by the Sefton Holocaust Memorial Working Party, whose members include Diane Mackley, Michael Braham, Pauline Collier and Gillian Moonman.

HMD Working Party co-ordinator Diane Mackley said: ”This is our annual opportunity to remember those victims of the Nazi Holocaust, as well as the many victims – and survivors – of 20th century genocides.

“This is an inter-faith service and there will be representatives there from all the main faiths as well as civic and political leaders.

“However, the Service is primarily for ordinary members of the public, who wish to mark the day in an act of joint remembrance and commemoration. All are therefore very welcome to attend.

“The theme of this year’s Service is ‘Ordinary People’ .”
