People can enjoy “a whopping weekend of comedy” with some of the top names on the circuit performing at Victoria Park in Southport.
Southport Comedy Festival, sponsored by Anthony James Estate Agents, has already seen some superb performances since it returned to the town on 1st October – and it’s about to get even better, with:
Friday, 8th October – Tom Stade
Saturday, 9th October – Paul Sinha
Sunday, 10th October – Russell Kane
Southport Comedy Festival Director Brendan Riley said: “It is going to be a whopping weekend in Southport!
“We are looking forward to welcoming three of the greatest names in comedy – Tom Stade, Paul Sinha and Russell Kane – one after another!
“The Festival has been going really well since we launched this time last week, it has been a superb first seven days. People are buzzing.
“The numbers are growing all the time, a lot of it through word of mouth. People are coming, really enjoying the shows, and then coming back to see more.
“We have got 10 days left and we can’t wait!”
Tuesday sees Anthony James Estate Agents host a very special Comedy Bingo night, providing 300 places – for free – to NHS and care workers to thank them for all they have done during the Covid pandemic. Local companies have provided some superb prizes. The event is already at full capacity.

A Disco Bingo night will be held on Saturday, 16th October, to raise funds for Southport Flower Show and Victoria Park, through a full night of traditional style Disco and Bingo but with a modern twist!
Other shows include:
Wednesday, 13th October: Geoff Norcott
Thursday, 14th October, Ed Byrne
Friday, 15th October, Mark Thomas
Sunday, 17th October, The Royle Variety Performance with Steve Royle
Sunday, 17th October, Best of the Fest with Reginald D Hunter and Jo Caulfield
All the events have been held in a luxury marquee provided by Elite Marquees.
Brendan Riley said: “Elite Marquees have been brilliant! So have Alan and Keith and all the team at Southport Flower Show and Victoria Park Events.
“Mark and Tracey and all the team at Sefton Council Tourism have been really supportive, always there with any help and advice. It has been ace, a really great experience.
“All our volunteers have been great. It has been brilliant to have so much help.
“And a huge thank you to Anthony James Estate Agents and all the other local companies which have sponsored events at this year’s Festival.
“It has been a real team effort to make this year’s Southport Comedy Festival happen.
“We have got a really big weekend ahead!
“We have only got a handful of tickets left to see Russell Kane this Saturday. Tom Stade and Paul Sinha have both been selling really well too. This weekend is going to be a whopper!
“I am just so glad that we are here doing this, bringing live comedy back to Southport, after everything was cancelled last year because of the Covid pandemic.
“It is non-stop now! We have got some brilliant shows coming up from now until the end of the Festival next Sunday. Turn the TV off, come down and enjoy some superb live comedy!”
