The Easter holidays are here in Southport – and there’s SO much to enjoy over these next two weeks!

Here are 16 superb Easter holiday events to enjoy in Southport:
1 – Southport FC v Southend FA Trophy Semi Final

A sell-out crowd of 5,600 fans will see Southport FC take on National League side Southend at Haig Avenue in only the club’s second FA Trophy Semi-Final on Saturday 28th March 2026.
It will be four weeks since the dramatic penalty shoot out win against Yeovil Town saw the club reach this stage.

2 – Teddy Fest at Southport Market

Three much-loved local children’s businesses are coming together this March to host a heartfelt community fundraiser, Teddy Fest, at Southport Market.
This fun family event is organised by:
Rhythm Time (Katrina Reid)
Pebbles & Treasures (Vicki Marshall)
Babyballet Southport, Formby & Crosby (Jennifer Berrett)
Teddy Fest will raise funds for three incredible charities created in memory of three deeply loved and forever remembered girls following the Southport attacks — Bebe’s Hive, Elsie’s Story and Alice’s Wonder Dance.
Taking place at Southport Market on Saturday 28th March 2026 at 10.30am and 1pm, the event promises a magical day filled with music, dancing, creativity and togetherness for local families.

3 – Sefton Open

Saturday 28th March 2026 – Saturday 30th May 2026
The Atkinson, Lord Street, Southport. Free.
The Sefton Open is an annual exhibition celebrating the creativity and artistic talent across the borough. The exhibition takes over The Atkinson’s art gallery in an eclectic salon-style hang and features a wide variety of works from individual artists and local groups.
The Atkinson’s long-standing partner, Southport Palette Club, selects the work from individual artists for the Sefton Open.
A wide variety of media is welcomed, including film, sculpture, craft, paintings, prints and textiles.

4 – Hoedown Showdown Country Night

Saddle up and get your swagger on!
Prepare yourselves for an ultimate country music night out with a fully immersive experience that goes beyond just a live performance.
Not only is there an amazing live vocalist performing some of the biggest country hits but the DJ and host will be giving you a full four hours of music from artists such as Shania Twain, Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Dolly Parton, John Denver, Johnny Cash to Taylor Swift, Miley & Billy Ray Cyrus, Rednex, Rascal Flatts, Zach Bryan and many more.

5 – Southport Chrysanthemum Society Spring Show

The Southport Chrysanthemum Society Spring Show is back at Marble Place shopping centre on Chapel Street in Southport town centre this weekend.
People are invited to call in and see the wonderful floral displays created by Alan Foxall and his team 10am-5pm on Saturday (28th March 2026) and 10am-4pm on Sunday (29th March 2026).
Free admission, as the volunteers from the Society, one of the longest-established in Southport, celebrate their 76th anniversary.
You can also see the South Lancashire Alpine Society Mini Show.
The Trophy Awards and Grand Raffle draw will take place at 4pm on Sunday.
There are loads of reasons to visit Southport during these school Easter holidays!
6 – Southport Heritage Running Day

Southport Heritage Running Day is back in Southport for a second superb event this Sunday (29th March 2026)!
This special day is organised by the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust and will be raising funds for Elsie’s Story.
The event runs between 10am and 5pm with people able to ride around Southport on some stunning, beautifully-restored vintage buses.
A 24-page, full colour programme and guide will be available on the day for £5.
Donations to Elsie’s Story are welcome.
You’ll find the buses running from the Promenade near Silcock’s Funland on different routes around Southport with destinations including Ainsdale; Crossens; and the Botanic Gardens in Churchtown.
The routes include Route 30 which will be serving Southport Model Engineering Club at Victoria Park on Rotten Row.
Passengers will be able to enjoy a vintage bus ride and then a ride on a miniature steam train too, with trains running 10.30am-4pm.
7 – The Big Build Project

The Old Bakehouse Coffee Shop on Zetland Street in Southport hosts a Fundraising Community Event from 10am on Sunday 29th March 2026.
Enjoy a coffee morning, live music, bingo, karaoke, hot food, bar and ice cream.
They are raising funds for The Big Build Project.
There is a karaoke extravaganza £10 entry which includes hotpot or chilli.
8 – For Valour: The Story of the Victoria Cross

Tuesday 31 March 2026, 7.30pm
The Atkinson, Lord Street, Southport
Mark Smith, renowned for his expertise in medals and militaria, has been a celebrated figure on BBC TV’s Antiques Roadshow since 2014. Recognised as one of the show’s most popular experts, Mark captivates audiences with his deep knowledge and engaging storytelling.
A global expert on the Victoria Cross, Mark has authored five books on the Great War and contributed to numerous publications and magazines.
His live presentation, For Valour: The Story of the Victoria Cross, offers audiences a chance to delve into the origins of this prestigious award, dispel myths, and hear extraordinary stories of the brave men who have received Britain’s highest military honour.

9 – Wayfarers Arcade Easter Egg Hunt

Families are invited to enjoy a fun-filled adventure this Easter Weekend at Wayfarers Arcade in Southport town centre.
Children of all ages are invited to take part in the Wayfarers Easter Egg Hunt, running from 11am – 4pm on 3rd, 4th and 6th April 2026.
Pop into Play On Productions (34 Wayfarers Arcade) where friendly bunnies will be waiting with your egg hunt map (and maybe a few helpful clues)
Then set off around the arcade to spot the amazing egg characters hidden in shop windows!
As you explore, write down the names of the eggs you find, or draw them if you prefer.
Once you’ve completed the trail, return to the bunnies to claim a special surprise gift… and don’t forget to grab a selfie with them too!

10 – Southport Lifeboat Open Day – Good Friday!

12 – The Twits at Southport Market

Uh-oh… The Twits are up to something this Easter…
Get ready for lots of chocolatey chaos with “Mr and Mrs Twit’s Chocolate Heist”, a fun filled children’s theatre adventure, inspired by the much loved characters of Roald Dahl.

13 – Cristal Palace

French street theatre company Transe Express brings its Cristal Palace show to Lord Street with a 15-metre-wide flying chandelier, transforming the street into an open- air ballroom with live music, aerial performance and dance, a dazzling fusion of art and theatre.

15 – Southport Model Engineering Club Easter Event

Easter weekend has always been a favourite with our visitors at Southport Model Engineering Club!
They plan to have trains running on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday (5th & 6th April), between 11am and 3pm.
Count the Easter bunnies as you ride around the track to win Easter treats.
Play fun games to win prizes.
Enjoy Easter craft activities.
Why not bring a picnic and enjoy the picnic area (next to the children’s play area) whilst watching the trains?
No increase in price – just the usual suggested donation of £2 per passenger.
16 – Friends of Bedford Park
The Friends will be hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt event on Easter Sunday (5th April 2026).
Find 8 coloured tokens hidden around the park and swap them for an Easter Egg. It’s £2 to enter the Egg Hunt.
Entry to the park is free.
At the pavilion, they’ll have free refreshments, a raffle. free play area with outdoor toys and games.
We will be debuting our free 9 hole mini putting course for families of all ages.
Bedford Park will be the place to be on Easter Sunday.
You might even be able to grab a selfie with the Easter Bunny.
